How to handle a potential client rejecting you due to AI usage?

I don't even know what TOPIC to put this in. Would love anyone's input in how they handle prospects who refuse to work with anyone using AI.

My gut is telling me to just move on. But maybe others have better ideas.

Hi Evan, great question and one we almost always have to answer unfortunately. While we can never know the motives of other people we can know whether or not we want to interact with them and let them enter our thoughts and space. Personally, I don't. So my solution is very simple - I block and delete. :) Blessings! Nancy

Hello

Hi Everyone, I am a self taught screen-writer. When one of my screenplays made it to the quarters/semis of the Emerging Screen writers contest, I realized it was something to pursue. I write - books, short stories - and was looking to bring them to life on the big screen. After a ton of submissions - no responses, hundreds of dollars in contests...later...I realized here is a medium where I can bring my writing to life (and not take all my scripts to the grave with me LOL). If you are in Toronto especially, let's connect. Either way, looking to work with folks here and produce great stuff. Thanks for Nancy and the team for this great place to connect.

Current industry standard for pitching a film or TV story

I’m currently developing several story ideas. Some are still at the concept stage, while a few already exist as short synopses where the overall narrative is outlined, including the beginning, the central plot development, and the ending. Most of these ideas fall within the science fiction adventure genre.

I’m curious what the usual approach is today when presenting or pitching a story idea for a film or TV project.

Is it typically done through a pitch deck, a short treatment, a series bible, or some combination of these, possibly including visual elements such as storyboard frames or a short comic-book style sequence to help present the story?

I would also appreciate hearing what formats or approaches are currently considered the most common and widely accepted when presenting an original project.

Hello Everyone

My name is Kesiena Edor.

I’m a creative storyteller exploring how advanced generative technologies can be used to create cinematic experiences and develop original film concepts. I founded Cedar Empire as a platform to build and experiment with science-fiction stories and visual worlds using modern AI filmmaking tools.

My work focuses on developing visually compelling stories that explore the possibilities of AI-powered filmmaking. One of the projects I’m currently developing is Abuja: First Contact, a science-fiction story connected to Abuja in Africa, where an unexpected extraterrestrial event becomes the starting point for a much larger global narrative.

To build these worlds, I work with a range of AI creative tools including ,Sora, KlingAI,KlingAI 3.0 Omni, Veo 3, Google Flow, Runway, Luma Dream Machine, Freepik AI, and Nano Banana. My workflow combines prompt engineering, visual design, and narrative development to create cinematic concepts and proof-of-concept trailers that would traditionally require large studi…
